Lux Aeterna - Dalinda (hu)
By transforming traditional unison Hungarian folk songs into modern polyphonic compositions, Dalinda is considered a pioneer on the stage of Hungarian folk acapella. Building upon their traditional roots and enriching them with inspiration from contemporary surroundings, they strive to preserve original folk music's pure and authentic strength. Their artistic and research process revolves around learning from archive recordings or directly from villager singers and musicians.
After their debut album (2018), the latest “Passageways” was released in October 2020. In 2019 Dalinda was selected into the International Portfolio Bands of Hungarian Heritage House contributing to represent their music as well as Hungarian traditions all over the world. They performed in some of the greatest music events and stages of renowned concert halls such as the Palace of Arts, the Liszt Music Academy and Opus Jazz Club, as well as at eminent international world music fairs like WOMEX in Budapest (2020) and the English Folk Expo in Manchester (2021).
After successfully presenting a complex dance-theater show based on “Passageways” in April 2022, they have turned their focus mostly to local acts and inspirational collaborations like a concert with the Bulgarian Eva Quartet and shooting a movie directed by Vincent Moon as a part of the Petites Planétes series.
"They experiment on a solid basis and in moderation. They are not only for the gallery, and they not only want to own the folklore material, but also think something about it, and may be able to make a wider circle as well to fall in love with folk songs."
Balázs Weyer - Recorder Magazine, 2019
