Windborne (us)

The four-person Windborne charmed the European music world in the WOMEX event in October 2022. Now the band, consisting of experts in the American tradition of singing in harmony, is ready to take on Finland in collaboration between Sello Hall and the Etnosoi! festival.

Windborne's songs show a strong knowledge and respect of tradition, and additional flavour to clear vocal harmonies comes from traditional musical instruments such as banjo and washboard. The emotionally strong, touching harmonies include opinionated lyrics: Windborne has introduced songs in their repertoire involving the nature conservation and labour movements, such as the legendary miners' song "Which side are you".
