Cooperation between Tromsø¸ Museum and Global Music Centre, in order to research and record the musical traditions of the Kola Peninsula Sámi, begun in 1993. During the years hundreds of songs were recorded. This double-cd publication - research by Ilpo Saastamoinen - focuses on leu'dd of the Skolt Sámi. The performers are Anfisa Ivanovna Gerasimova, Anastasija Osipovna Gerasimova, Marija Prokopjevna Sergina, Matrjona Petrovna Sotkajärvi and Anisja Ivanovna Moshnikova. All the 68 leu'dd are introduced, and lyrics are printed in original language as well as in Finnish and English translations.
