Introduction

Pomppulinnan kreivi performs new, varied children's music, which is also enjoyed by adults. The band’s music is best reflected in the idea of a bird that flies freely regardless of country and cultural boundaries, always stopping where rhythms are most immersive.

The band has released three albums: Mandariinipäivä (2020), Mielen avaruus (2017) ja Tukaani (2016). Mielen avaruus album received a special mention in the 2018 children's album series of children's music Jellonagaala. The band has also been involved in Pikku Kakkonen's 100 children's songs project, making new arrangements of old children's music classics at Yle Areena:Ihhahhaa, Kapteeni katsoi horisonttihin, Villahousurock, Nurmilintu ja Puff on lohikäärme. The band is nominated for the 2020 EMMA Award for Children's Music.

At the gigs of Pomppulinnan kreivi, you can dance and bounce as much as you like! The music on the latest Mandariinipäivä album ranges from the lowlands of afro-beat to the heights of the Andes and through the Cuban carnivals to the middle of the trumpeting of the Balkan horns. The songs composed by Vili “Kreivi” Mustalampi tell stories about fighting the craving for sugar, making friends with the darkness, taking a trip with hammock to the heart of the forest, and praising the mud trousers.
