While working as a musician in Santiago de Cuba for 30 years, I had the possibility to gather a collection of photos of Cuban musicians, and musicians from Santiago de Cuba in particular. The collection consists of both old photos by unidentified photographers and photos from the end of 20th century, shot by photographers whom I met in Santiago, and who kindly gave me their permission to use the photos. The collection includes some rare and unique photos, and thank´s to the collaboration of the Global Music Centre the aficionados of Cuban music now have a possibility to enjoy the material in hand.
When identified, the artists in the photos are named. I would be glad to receive any corrections of the identities of the musicians or additional info about the musicians and the bands, if some one wishes to contact me. gmc@globalmusic.fi
The photographer´s name is published with the photo whenever it is known. Commercial use of the photos is not allowed without permission.

Durante 30 años viviendo en Cuba, provincia Santiago de Cuba en la que trabajé como músico, coleccioné fotos de músicos cubanos específicamente de ésta región oriental. La Colección incluye fotos antiguas desde los años treinta del siglo pasado y de finales del siglo XX, algunas son de gran valor e interés para los aficionados de la música cubana. El presente proyecto consiste en publicar una parte de las fotos en la página Web del Global Music Centre de Finlandia.
