The Finnish Musicians’ Union is a trade organisation for professional musicians. It has expertise in matters related to contracts, copyrights, social security and other issues that have come up during its 100 years of existence. The Finnish Musicians’ Union organizes some 3 800 members in 22 branches. Orchestra musicians, soloists and conductors represent approximately one third of the Union membership. The remaining two thirds consists of restaurant, entertainment, jazz and rock musicians. The ballet dancers of the Finnish National Opera are also organized in the Union.
Globe Art Points mission is advocating cultural equity, diversity and inclusion in the arts and cultural sector in Finland. G.A.P also serves as an information centre and meeting point for artists, cultural workers and arts & cultural institutions in Finland.
Global Music Centre is one of Finland’s musical institutions. Its key task is to collect, record and distribute information about musical cultures from around the world. The Centre aims to increase understanding among listeners, researchers and music-makers of the individual and collective values in music, and of the importance of music as a means of communicating and strengthening identity.
